Why Microsoft failed

MicrosoftOn Thursday, Microsoft revealed for the first time that it had missed its Surface sales targets. It admitted that of Surfaces were sitting in its warehouses, unclaimed. But the company's losses didn't end there: On Friday morning, Microsoft lost $30 billion when its stock price fell 10 points.

The company doesn't provide exact sales numbers, but the Surface created a $1 billion hole in Microsoft.

The Surface failed to compete with Apple's wildly popular iPad. But why? How did such a powerful company manage to fail miserably?

What is certain is that the construction of the Surface came from wrong estimates. But the most important thing is that Microsoft was 30 months late. 30 months after the release of the first Apple iPad comes second and sweaty Microsoft's Surface. With no substantial difference in features. In these 30 months Apple evolved its own tablet by constantly adding very attractive features, you know, Retina display etc.
If Microsoft had been able to predict the shift of the world from desktop computers to tablets it could have passed Apple, since since the early 2000s, there was the idea of an early tablet.

[col grid=”3-1 first”]
The company and its fanatical fans may deny failure, but the harsh language of numbers comes to refute them.
[/col] As a second reason for failure, we can mention its operating system itself. Before the release of Windows 8, we had heard so much about the new operating system that would change the way we see Windows. Immediately after the release, opinions were divided. Some supported Microsoft's new creation and others criticized it. This is for a start because the ardent supporters of the company and its operating system stubbornly refused to admit failure, as we mentioned, at least at first, because later complaints arose from the same people who supported it at the beginning. As well as the company itself, as a declaration of failure would bring financial disaster.
The company's plan to create a hybrid software that would allow easy communication between all the devices that "wore" it was a faithful copy of Apple's plan.
But Apple doesn't need the three-key combination (alt-ctrl-del) and once again thought of it first.

But Microsoft continues to hope, with an operating system that does not bring significant changes and a rehashed tablet.

Our view is that every company that exists in the world of technology should innovate. Not innovation on top of someone else's innovation, but bringing ideas that will make its customers consider their desire, a need. Regardless of the cost.
