Galaxy Note 7 replacement starts on September 21st in Australia!

Samsung has decided to recall around 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 devices, and it looks like owners won't have to wait long to get their phones replaced. The South Korean company has already announced a replacement program and revealed the date when the new phones will arrive, but only for a few countries.

Samsung Australia has announced that the Galaxy Note 7 replacement will take place on September 21st and that the company will resume sales of the Note 7 in early October in Australia.

“Our first priority is the safety of our customers, which is why we have worked hard to provide new Note 7 as quickly as possible. We appreciate our customers’ continued support as we begin shipping this new stock from September 21,” said Richard Fink, Vice President, IT & Mobile, Samsung Electronics Australia.

Australians can get another device until the Galaxy Note 7 replacement arrives. The company is advising owners of Note 7 smartphones to back up their data, delete their personal information, turn off the device and return it.

Samsung UK and Germany have also announced that replacements will arrive on September 19, a few days earlier than in Australia.

Galaxy Note 7 devices from the replacement stock can be identified by markings on the packaging, a small black square on a white barcode label and a white sticker with the letter “S” in blue. Samsung Australia will create an online database for its customers where they can check their IMEI number and see if the phone is from the original stock or the replacement stock.
