The true hipsters not only chase vintage beer, but they make their own, and this has just become much easier with the debut of Beer Bar.
Designed by Israel-based SodaStream International, the device allows users to add carbonated water to a special concentrated type of beer (called “Blondie”) to create beer at home. The final product has a 4.5% alcohol content and is supposed to look and taste like any regular beer you’d buy in a store or bar.
«The core technology of our carbonization and the distribution infrastructure provide an excellent platform to expand our activities in this emerging category and we choose to do it with a special brand of beer,» said Daniel Birnbaum, the CEO of SodaStream, in a statement released by the company.
If this sounds too good to be true, all you need to do is take a look at the company's videos for the carbonated water manufacturer, which show how you can turn tap water into carbonated water.
Nevertheless, even if the system works as promised, this does not guarantee that it will be a success, as beer lovers tend to be extremely picky about its taste (in many cases, their attention to detail is no different from that of a wine taster).
However, the operators of Beer Bar intend to proceed slowly with the project, as initially it will be available only on the company's website in Germany and at selected retail locations in Switzerland. But beer fans will not have to wait long, as Beer Bar is set to launch in additional markets from the end of 2016 and 2017.
