Mophie's new iPhone cases offer wireless charging

Users who own the iPhone 6/6S or iPhone 6 Plus/6S Plus can now charge their devices wirelessly. Dubbed the Juice Pack Wireless, the new cases from Mophie bring wireless charging to the classic Mophie ecosystem.

The case — which is the same size as the standard Juice Pack (Mophie's slimmest case) — adds another 50 percent to battery life and supports wireless charging. The version for the iPhone 6/6S sells for $100 and includes a charging dock. The case for the 6 Plus/6S Plus sells for $129.

Additionally, Mophie also has a desk mount and a car vent mount for sale. The mounts use magnets to hold your phone securely and attach either vertically or horizontally. This is especially useful in a car, where you can literally touch your phone inside its case to charge it wirelessly and keep it safe. These devices will be available for $59.99.

Wireless charging has been around for a long time. Restaurant chains like McDonald's and Starbucks support wireless charging, and most phones (including Samsung's Galaxy S7/Galaxy S7 Edge) support it as well.

The cases support both Qi and PMA (Power Matters Alliance) charging standards – so you can use them on Powermat and Qi charging pads.

Mophie told us that while customers have been asking for wireless charging for some time, it was important to wait until the big powers were ready. And now they are.

You can order the Juice Pack Wireless from Mophie.com, BestBuy.com, or pick it up at Best Buy stores now. Apple.com and retail stores will start selling it next week.
