A battery that can charge in just two minutes is the dream of many "smart" mobile device users... And it seems that a team of researchers from Singapore is set to make it a reality!
Researchers from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) claim to have developed an ultra-fast charging battery that can recover 70% of its "power" in just 120 seconds!
Furthermore, according to a Daily Mail report, this battery lasts ten times longer than regular batteries, which usually deteriorate over time.
The research team from Singapore points out that the technology they developed can be used in many more applications and industries, such as electric cars.
As Assistant Professor Chen Xiaodong Prof Chen, who led the study, told MailOnline, the battery replaces the graphite traditionally used in lithium batteries with a new gel material made from titanium dioxide. This material speeds up chemical reactions, allowing the battery to charge faster, the report added.
