A Greek woman among the 10 winners of the Microsoft competition

Nefeli Stephopoulou is one of the 10 winners of the global Microsoft YouthSpark Challenge for Change, distinguished with her project "Project LINC", which aims to solve the problem of water pollution and shortage faced by a large number of schools in Africa, and in this way she managed to stand out among thousands of participants who took part from 100 countries.

The Challenge for Change competition is part of Microsoft’s global YouthSpark initiative, through which the company creates and provides educational, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for young people around the world. The competition invited students, alumni and graduates from around the world to submit their ideas on how they could bring about positive change, both in their local communities and on a global scale. This year’s 10 winners represent Greece, Chile, Ecuador, India, Nepal, Nigeria, the United States and Uruguay.

 

As Nefeli Stephopoulou herself stated after the announcement of the results

"Being one of the big winners of the Microsoft YouthSpark Challenge for Change is a dream come true for me" ... "I feel blessed to have the opportunity to help these people who do not have access to clean water and now I am given the opportunity to help even more," she added.

This initiative by Nefeli Stephopoulou has contributed to the donation of 7 water filters, which have already been installed in 2 schools in Kenya and which provide drinking water to at least 500 children.
