Some of the updates that Microsoft released as part of this month's Patch Tuesday are causing problems for several Windows users.
It seems that there are malicious bulletins that are leading to various problems for Microsoft Office users.
KB2965295 and KB2965270, which bring updates for Outlook users, are said to cause some issues that prevent the calendar from working properly, while the same errors appear on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 with Outlook 2010 and 2013.
As Woody Leonhard writes today, there are two error messages that users are receiving and the calendar cannot be updated.
Oddly enough, some users are also reporting issues with two other updates released by Microsoft in the past few months that seem to be causing problems for Office. KB2956128 and KB2956203 are being re-offered to users, some say, and are causing Outlook to stop working.
KB2956128 is an update for Outlook 2010 that Microsoft says fixes a number of issues in the email client, while KB2956203 was released in March and addresses an issue in the same application that could cause some options in users' accounts to be disabled.
This is not the first time that users have encountered issues with these updates, as there are several complaints pointing out the problems they cause in Outlook 2010. However, it is still unclear why Microsoft is re-offering the updates, as they do not appear to fix any issues, but instead cause the same problems as before.
Right now, the best way to deal with this issue is to uninstall the updates until Microsoft offers a fix, but it's unclear when that will happen. The company has yet to make any statement about the updates released this month, so expect some fixes in May.
