The "smart" watch is in an experimental stage
A watch made of e-paper was manufactured by Sony, as part of an initiative to experiment with the use of this material to create fashion products.
The Fes Watch has a minimalist, monochromatic design and although it falls short of the features offered by other "smart" watches, its battery can last much longer, with an estimated duration of 60 days of use.
According to a report in the BBC's technology column, the watch is described as "retro cool.".
"I predict that next year fashion will play a very important role in shaping the technology industry. Getting a big and sophisticated phone is one thing, but when we wear something on us, it has to look good too."
,commented gadget expert, Stuart Miles, from Pocket-lint.
The face and straps are made of e-paper and their technology is comparable to that used in e-book readers.
Sony has not revealed a release date for the Fes Watch.
