The Wall Street Journal 's official Facebook page was hacked by an unknown attacker on Sunday morning.
The hacker made false posts claiming that the US presidential plane, Air Force One, had crashed. The post, which came after news of the downing of the Malaysian Airlines plane on Thursday, has upset many.
The Wall Street Journal eventually deleted the posts and informed its readers that it had been "hacked" by an unknown hacker.
The hack is reminiscent of a similar incident in April 2013, when the Associated Press Twitter account was hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army group. The tweet claimed that the US President had been injured after two explosions at the White House. Last December, the Washington Post was also hacked, compromising employee usernames, passwords and other personal information.
