Microsoft-Kills-Three-More-Software-Products

Microsoft has announced the retirement of three mapping software, which will be abandoned, as the company now focuses all its efforts on its Bing Maps service.

The reason is AutoRoute, Streets&Trips and Microsoft MapPoint, applications that are showing reduced popularity and although they appeared in the form of commercial map software, helping developers create related applications, the company decided to gradually turn towards Bing Maps.

Microsoft said that all Autoroute customers will be able to use the app, while Streets & Trips and MapPoint subscribers will receive support until 2015.

"We appreciate the support of our loyal users over the years. It was a difficult decision to discontinue Microsoft's beloved mapping software products. The retirement of these products will not affect software already installed. Current users will continue to use Microsoft Autoroute, Microsoft Streets & Trips, and MapPoint to plan their trips and will have online support until at least July 2015," the company said.
