Tumblr strengthens security with two-factor authentication

Tumblr many others that have strengthened users' online security with two-factor authentication.

The blogging platform announced Monday that it has added an additional security measure to its settings page. Tumblr bloggers now have the option to make it more difficult for outsiders to access their blogs.

“You know how you have to have two keys to launch a nuclear missile?,” Tumblr wrote in a blog post. “Two-factor authentication works like this. One key is your password, the other key is your mobile phone, and both are needed to access your Tumblr Dashboard. Keep your admin as secure as you do your nuclear missiles.”
