In a surprise move, Microsoft announced that its Mobile 365 will be available for free starting today. Although Microsoft Mobile has been available for free since its initial release on the Google Play Store, those who wanted to create new documents had to pay for the subscription service.
"Just like Office Mobile for Windows Phone, Office Mobile for iPhone and Android phones is free for everyone. With Office Mobile, you can take Office content on the go," Microsoft said in a blog post.
With the latest version of Microsoft Office Mobile, Android users will be able to access documents while on the go. No matter where you are, as long as you have a stable internet connection, you will be able to review and edit documents stored in the cloud.
The Office Mobile suite allows users to read Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents directly from their smartphones. According to Microsoft, Office Mobile is optimized for small screens so that users have no problems reading documents while on the go.
Microsoft also confirmed that Office Mobile for iPhone is also available for free.
