Microsoft Not Banning Spam Apps in Windows 8.1 Store

Microsoft-Keeps-Approving-Spam-Apps-in-Windows-8-1-Store

Microsoft promised to pay a little more attention to the apps it approves for download in Windows 8.1, but it turns out that all the useless stuff continues to be in its store, to this day.

While searching for apps for Windows 8.1, we came across “Download Skype Here,” which from the title alone seems to be trying to trick us into clicking on the app. There is absolutely no word in the official description that could convince us to download the app for our Windows 8.1 device.

This is the official description of the app:

"Skype is a free online voice and instant messaging service, currently developed by Microsoft's Skype Division."

And here is the text in a screenshot and its description (typographical and spelling errors were made by the developer):

"What is Skype?" Do you know about this? This is one of the screen shots from the app.”

There is no doubt that this kind of app should no longer be in the store, so if Microsoft really wants to help users download the apps they need and truly appreciate the Metro environment, all these fake apps should be removed as soon as possible.

The positive side is that the number of apps in the store continues to grow, so we expect more and higher quality apps to be released in the coming months.
