The EU is planning to secretly install a backdoor in cars by 2020

carA secret EU team has agreed to develop a device to be fitted to all carsthat would allow police to stop any car they want.

A leaked document reveals that the “remote shutdown” device could be activated by a switch in a control room, this could be achieved by turning off the fuel and ignition supply.

The device, which could be ready in a decade, would allow police to track a vehicle's movementand even stop it. The plans were described as "draconian" by critics, who questioned whether the government would be liable if the switch caused a collision.

According to the Daily Telegraph, a group of senior EU officials have signed off on the proposal at a secret meeting in Brussels.
