Robot provides the ultimate experience by simulating all the needs of an infant
Technology is coming to the aid of couples who wonder if they can meet the care needs of a baby.
The proposed solution is special robots that resemble an infant. One of the most advanced models of baby robots is the RealCare Baby 3, which was recently presented at an international robotics exhibition in Tokyo.
It weighs as much as a real baby of this size and is equipped with a multitude of sensors and other electronics. It has been programmed to burst into sobs at any time. When this happens, the "parents" must run to it within a period of no more than 2 minutes, which if they do will be recorded as a negative in the file it keeps!
Once they reach the "baby", they must gently lift it by holding its head. If they are clumsy in the way they hold it, it will start crying even louder, and a relevant recording will be made in the file.
Then, the "parents" will have to figure out why it's crying. It may need to be changed, as the robot comes with two sets of diapers, it may need feeding provided by bottles and a breast-simulating device, it may want to burp, or it may simply be restless and want to be lulled!
Furthermore, prospective “parents” should not neglect the baby robot, even when it is quiet. It should not be too hot or too cold, it should not wear the same clothes for a long time, nor should it be in a child seat in the car for a long time. If any of the above happens, there will be a corresponding recording in the event log.
When the test period is complete, the data is transferred to a computer and evaluated.
