Samsung 's upcoming Galaxy S26 series may seem a bit chaotic to outside observers, but the company is already considering it a hit that will be released in a few months.

According to Korean outlet Maeil Business News, Samsung has released its full-year forecast for mobile division (MX), and it seems extremely “aggressive” and confident about its new products. The company expects the new Galaxy — which should include the regular S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, along with possible Edge and FE releases later in the year — to sell 36 million units, with the entire smartphone lineup likely reaching 240 million worldwide.

If successful, MX could bring the company over $90 billion in sales alone.
Analyzing these expectations reveals even greater ambitions, with the S26 series surpassing the success of its predecessor. In the first half of this year, 22 million S25s were sold.

Foldable phones are also a huge part of the company's 2026 plan, with the Fold 7 and Flip 7 expected to sell a combined 5 million units after their supposed mid-year launch.

While smartphones undoubtedly overshadow tablet , the company hopes to sell at least 27 million Galaxy Tab models.
This extremely positive forecast comes after a surprisingly strong year for the Korean company, with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 both exceeding expectations. While this success can be attributed to a number of factors (continuous upgrade cycle as older devices start to reach the end of their life, the Fold 7's thin and light build, etc.), Samsung sees it as a response to the company's focus on artificial intelligence.

Considering the devices AI-heavy like the Pixel 10, it might be hard to dismiss this line of thinking, though it's unclear whether the Galaxy's AI is the reason for this renewed market success. Either way, it's clear that Samsung believes it has a hit on its hands for next year. The new Galaxy lineup is rumored to debut in San Francisco in late February, with availability expected in early March.
