Meanwhile, the original Switch continues to grow in sales, even though the Switch 2 is the fastest-selling of all time. The original console has now sold 154.01 million units (slightly less than the 154.02 million units sold for the DS, which remains Nintendo's most successful console). If it surpasses the DS, the Switch will only need to surpass 160 million units to become the best-selling console of all time — a record set by PlayStation 2 last year.
The success of the Switch 2 demonstrates Nintendo's ability to innovate and adapt to market demands, offering a console that combines flexibility with high performance. Analysts believe that the increased demand for the Switch 2 is due to a number of factors, such as improved technology, increased support for third-party games and strategic partnerships with major game publishers.
