Nintendo is updating Animal Crossing: New Horizons with new features for the Switch 2.The upgraded game will be released on January 15, 2026, offering 4K visuals on your TV, mouse control , and a built-in speaker that uses the Switch 2's microphone. It will cost $64.99, but will also be available as an upgrade pack for $4.99 if you already own the game for the original Switch.
When the enhanced title launches, players will be able to use mouse controls on the right Joy-Con 2to decorate interiors, create custom designs, and write messages on the bulletin board, while the speaker will allow villagers to be located by calling out their names.
