CEO Mark Zuckerbergis preparing to introduce even more posts generated by artificial intelligence (AI) into social media feeds . During the company’s earnings call, he said that Meta will add “another huge collection of content” to its recommendation system as AI “makes it easier to create and recreate” content shared online.

“Social media has gone through two eras so far,” Zuckerberg explained. “The first was when all the content came from friends, family, and accounts you followed directly. He stressed that recommendation systems that “deeply understand” AI-generated posts and “show you the right content” will become “ increasingly valuable .” Meta has already started integrating AI tools into its apps and is experimenting with dedicated AI social apps.

"I think Vibes is an example of a new type of content enabled by artificial intelligence, and I think there are more opportunities to create many more new types of content in the future," Zuckerberg added.

Meta reported revenue of $51.24 billion this quarter, up 26% year-over-year. However, it also faced a $15.93 billion tax burden related to President Donald Trump's Big Beautiful Bill.
