Instagram is fixing a feature that has frustrated users for a long time, and now, when you open the app, you will need to scroll before new content appears.

Regular Instagram users know this frustration well: you open the app, see an interesting piece of content, and suddenly it disappears as the feed refreshes.

The situation has worsened, as it is almost impossible to find anything, especially videos, using function . So whatever you were interested in has probably been lost.
It was long suspected that this “behavior” might be due to a bug—perhaps Instagram had been “frozen” as a background process by iOS or Android, and was simply restarting. However, it turns out that wasn’t exactly the case.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, revealed in an AMA earlier this week that the “rug pull,” as it’s called internally, was intentional. “We were trying to load new content and it was taking a while, so we showed you something you had already downloaded in the meantime, which is generally a good thing.” While that may be true, the process of getting new content on Instagram always has to monitor the user’s interaction, scrolling before refreshing the feed.

Thankfully, Mosseri admitted that this behavior was “really annoying,” so Instagram will stop this practice and wait for you to start scrolling before refreshing the feed. This small change is sure to please many users.
