Adobe has previewed its upcoming Generative AI tools for video , including a new feature that can generate video clips from still images . This preview builds on the Firefly video model that was first announced in April. According to Adobe , the Firefly model aims to power AI video and audio editing capabilities in the company’s Creative Cloud apps .

The new teaser trailer shows footage created by Firefly’s text-to-video capabilities. The tool allows users to create video clips using text and customize the results using a variety of “camera controls,” which simulate camera angles, movement, and shooting distance. However, the length of the resulting video is limited, at least for now. As Adobe executive Alexandru Costin, videos produced by the text-to-video and image-to-video features have a maximum length of five seconds.
