This would be the first initial public offering (IPO) of a major social media company since Pinterest emerged in 2019, and it comes as Reddit faces intense competition for advertising revenue from TikTok and Facebook .
The offering would also test the willingness of some Reddit users to support the company's IPO. Many investors posting on the platform have helped fuel dozens of memes about its stock over the past three years, from retailer GameStop to movie company AMC Entertainment Holdings.
Reddit, which confidentially filed its IPO request in December 2021, plans to publicly file its application in February, begin its presentation to the markets in early March and complete the IPO by the end of March, according to two sources.

The San Francisco-based company, which is estimated to be worth about $10 billion in a 2021 funding round, plans to sell about 10% of its shares in the IPO, the sources added. It will decide on the IPO valuation that will follow closer to the listing date, the sources said.
The sources warned that plans to list Reddit's consortium could be delayed, as has happened in the past, and asked not to be named while discussing confidential consultations.
