End of Rock Band 4 DLC after 8 Years and 3,000 Songs and Fortnite Festival will serve as Harmonix's new home for music.

The final songs for Rock Band 4 will be released next week, ending an eight-year streak of weekly DLC releases for the rhythm game, developer Harmonix announced Wednesday. The company's future will continue with Fortnite Festival, the Rock Band-like gameplay mode that launched in December.
Rock Band 4's final DLC is set to release on January 25, though Harmonix has yet to announce which songs will round out the nearly 3,000-song lineup after the game launches. "We've been thinking long and hard about how to nail this season's final RB DLC," the company said in a statement on Harmonix's website. "The final two weeks will feature some songs that will make us cry."
Harmonix says that all other real-time services for Rock Band 4 “will continue as normal, including Rivals seasons and online play.” The company also pledges that players will keep their purchased songs, adding: “To be very clear, you can play your purchased songs in Rock Band 4 as long as you want.”

For Rock Band fans looking for new content, “Fortnite Festival is the place to be,” Harmonix said. The Epic Games- launched Fortnite Festival last month with two modes: Main Stage, which is a simplified Rock Band-like experience for up to four players, and Jam Stage, which is inspired by Harmonix’s song-mixing game, Fuser.
Fortnite Festival is free to play and has its own additional music, with a rotating selection of free songs. Harmonix has committed to bringing support for Rock Band 4 instruments to Fortnite Festival, which currently supports game controllers and keyboard, sometime this year.
Rock Band 4 launched with 65 songs. Harmonix increased that number to more than 120 with the release of the Rock Band Rivals add-on content in 2016. Since then, Harmonix has released new songs for Rock Band 4 every week. In recent weeks, the company has released DLC including “So What'Cha Want” by the Beastie Boys, “No One Knows” by Queens of the Stone Age, and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John through the Rock Band Music Store.
