Xiaomi held a launch event in China, where it unveiled the latest version of the Redmi Note series, along with a new tablet, TWS earphones, and other interesting offerings. The Redmi Note 13 series includes a variety of models, including standard, pro, and pro+ versions.
All three options are being presented as the successors to the Redmi Note 12 series from last year. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is considered the flagship model in the series, boasting significant improvements over its predecessor.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ features a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with a center notch. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. In addition, the device supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Notably, this smartphone is the first in the Note family to incorporate fingerprint recognition.
In terms of design, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ moves away from the camera island trend and instead opts for traditionally placed sensors. However, the back surface sports a dual-tone design with faux leather. It also has an IP68 certification, indicating its resistance to dust and water.
In terms of photography capabilities, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is equipped with a 1/1.4-inch, 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor. Accompanying it, it features an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP third lens. The device supports both optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). It has the ability to capture images at three different focal lengths via an in-sensor zoom and 4x lossless optical zoom. On the front, the mobile phone is equipped with a 16MP front lens.
Also, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ features the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor. The phone offers up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 120W fast charging. As for the software, it runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13.Connectivity options on the device include a USB-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, IR Blaster, 5G capability, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and more.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ starts at CNY 1,999 ($273) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB models are available for CNY 2,199 ($300) and CNY 2,299 ($314) respectively. The smartphone will be available for purchase from September 26 onwards.
