The Day Before: The delay was planned

Fntastic had initially stated that there would be an eight-month delay to The Day Before due to a trademark dispute .

The Day Before, an open world survival game developed by Propnight studio Fntastic, has had an extremely strange “journey”. The promotional campaign was incredible – it was the second most “Wishlist” game on Steam, behind only Hogwarts Legacy , despite the fact that nothing was announced about it. However, just days before Fntastic released the first gameplay teaser trailer, after two years, The Day Before was removed from Steam completely. The Day Before: The delay was planned

Fntastic announced on January 25th that The Day Before had been removed from Steam due to a "trademark claim" against the title, which they only learned about on January 19th.
As a result of the dispute, the game's release date was pushed back from March 1st to November 10th.

However, in a new interview with IGN, Fntastic founders Eduard and Aisen Gotovtsevstated that The Day Before's delay was actually planned before the trademark dispute came to light, and that they would announce it via a 10-minute gameplay trailer that they would be releasing.

It's worth noting that the Gotovtsevs and Fntastic are being accused by many followers on Twitter that this whole The Day Before thing is a fiasco and, in reality, it's some kind of scam and the game doesn't even exist.

The game is fully funded by Mytona, one of the largest mobile publishers in the world, who supervised the game’s development at every milestone in accordance with our contract.
As the company’s founders state, they took no money from the public, neither from crowdfunding, pre-orders, nor donations.

The Day Before: The delay was planned

The circumstances surrounding Fantastic and Mytona, two respected game developers, and their title The Day Before are a bit strange. On Steam, the game could be added to the “Wishlist,” but was never available for pre-order. It seems to be a clear case of the game’s creators underestimating the time it would take to complete and release the game, and as a result, they delayed it. It was previously attributed to a “known issue” that would be fixed during regular Steam maintenance, but now it’s linked to a trademark dispute. This “inconsistency” was, however, commented on in the interview with IGN. It’s possible that Fantastic is having a hard time keeping up with the situation, and that the volunteers they employ don’t have all the information. However, as staff editor Morgan Park points out in his detailed analysis of the The Day Before mystery, there are several suspicious elements, most notably the lack of information available about the game. According to Park, The Day Before's official Discord has a ' Commonly Asked Questions ' section that isn't very good at answering basic questions like "Will there be missions?" and "Are there other vehicle types?" No one answers.

Fntastic The Day before Steam delay

Fntastic has stated that it will only share the game's promised gameplay footage after getting permission from its lawyers, which seems unusual in the case of a simple trademark dispute, but it's likely that legal precautions are needed.
Regardless, many are eager to see the gameplay and hope to see it soon.
