
You may be tired of hearing about them lately. However, they are one of the issues that will concern us for a long time. These are NFTs, which will also be coming to Instagram, according to an announcement by Mark Zuckerberg. Speaking at SXSW, the CEO of Meta, the parent company of Instagram, confirmed that digital collectibles will be coming to the app very soon.

“We’re working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near future,” he said. Zuckerberg didn’t elaborate on exactly how that would work, but he suggested that people would be able to showcase their existing NFTs and potentially create new ones. “I’m not ready to announce exactly what that will be. But in the coming months, you’ll be able to bring some of your NFTs and hopefully create new ones in that environment.”

This isn't the first time Mark Zuckerberg has expressed interest in NFTs. Other executives have also made announcements about the new trend. Instagram CEO Adam Mosserisaid the company was "actively exploring" the technology.

Speaking on Tuesday, Zuckerberg also said that NFTs could one day play a role in the company’s much-talked-about metaverse. “I hope you know that the clothes that your avatar wears in the metaverse can practically be created as NFTs and you can take them to different places.” However, as he stressed, there are many technical issues that need to be resolved before something like this becomes easy to use.

NFTs are one of the hottest tech topics of recent times, with more and more companies announcing plans for the new technology. It remains to be seen how users will react to the news of NFTs coming to Instagram.
