Every title Microsoft adds to the Xbox backward compatibility program will support Auto HDR on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles . Users will also see higher resolution when playing original Xbox games. Xbox Series X and Xbox One X owners will see four times better resolution in these games, while Xbox Series S owners will see three times better resolution, and Xbox One S and Xbox One owners will see two times better resolution. Additionally, 11 titles will support FPS Boost . The feature increases a game's framerate to up to 60 frames per second. According to Microsoft, 26 titles that were already in the backward compatibility library will also support FPS Boost. That list includes Fallout: New Vegas, The Elder Scrolls IV, Dragon Age: Origins, and Dead Space 2.

The last time Microsoft added new games to the backward compatibility program was in 2019. At the time, it was said to be the last update. Now, Microsoft says this is the final update. “While we remain committed to preserving and improving games, we have reached the limit of our ability to bring games from the past into the catalog due to legal and technical constraints,” said the head of the Xbox Compatibility Program.
