If you're a Microsoft user, you might want to double-check your inbox and spam folder, as the company may have left something there for you. Earlier this week, some people noticed that Microsoft Store gift cards suddenly appeared in their emails, and the company confirmed that it sent 50,000 of the codes to customers in the US.

According to a Microsoft spokesperson:
“To help spread the holiday cheer, Microsoft Store surprised a total of 50,000 customers in the U.S. with virtual gift cards via email. 25,000 customers will receive a $100 Microsoft gift card and another 25,000 will receive a $10 Microsoft gift card in time for the holiday season. These randomly selected recipients can redeem their gift card at the Microsoft Store by December 31, 2021, and spend it within 90 days of redemption.“

If you're not one of the people randomly selected by the company, you're not alone. However, it's worth checking any email accounts you might be using for Xbox Live or Skype.
And even if you don't need anything from the Microsoft Store, someone on your list would probably appreciate a new mouse or set of headphones as a Christmas gift.
