Resetting a Windows 11 can allow users to fix certain issues. A factory reset erases all settings and allows users to start over with a clean slate. Here's how to factory reset a PC running Windows 11.

When you reset your PC, Windows 11 offers the option to either keep or delete your personal files. However, resetting deletes all your apps and settings.
Therefore, before proceeding with a reset, it's a good idea to back up your data, just in case.

Reset your Windows 11 PC
To start the reset process, open the Settings app on your computer running Windows 11 (you can open Settings by pressing the Windows+i keys simultaneously).
After entering Settings, select “System” from the left sidebar.
On the “System” page, click “Recovery”.
In the “Recovery” menu, next to “Reset this PC”, click “Reset PC”.

You will see a “ Reset this PC ” window . At this point, select one of the following two options:
Keep My Files: If you choose this option, the reset will delete your apps and settings, but will preserve your personal files.
Remove Everything: If you choose this option, all your apps, settings, and personal files will be deleted. If you want to sell or give away your device, you should tap this option.

Next, a screen will appear that says “ How Would You Like to Reinstall Windows .” If you want to reinstall Windows 11 from the cloud, select the “ Cloud Download ” option. For a local reinstall of Windows 11 , select the “ Local Reinstall ” option .

Follow the instructions that appear on your screen to complete the reset of your Windows 11 computer.

When the restore is complete, you're ready to set up your computer from scratch.
