Did you know that you can speed up the internet via cmd? There are a number of methods, which include flushing the DNS cache, pinging the default gateway, and using the “netsh int tcp” command along with different features to increase internet speed.

If you are facing internet problem and traditional methods are not working, you can use these tricks to speed up internet using cmd.
How to speed up the Internet using cmd?
1. Check internet speed using cmd pings to default gateway
You can check your Internet connection speed by sending ping packets to your default gateway.
To find your default gateway, you can use the ipconfig /all. Once you have the IP address of your default gateway, start running a continuous ping by typing ping -t . The time field value will tell you the time it takes to get an acknowledgement from the gateway.

A lower time value is an indication that your network is faster. However, performing multiple pings consumes network bandwidth as well as default gateway resources.
2. IP release and renewal
If you are using a WiFi connection, in case of IP release and renewal, you may see a temporary speed increase, depending on the WiFi signal strength. However, in case of LAN, the speed is not affected.
3. Flushdns to speed up the Internet using cmd
Our computer keeps a list of the websites and their corresponding IP addresses that we access the most, in the DNS cache. Sometimes, this data becomes outdated after months or weeks. So, when we clear the DNS resolver cache, we are clearing the outdated data and making new entries in the DNS resolver cache table.
Using this command may initially experience a slower connection due to the requirement of new DNS lookups for each resource. However, you will soon see faster loading of websites in your browser.

4. Speed up the Internet using the cmd command 'Netsh int tcp'
Type this command in the command prompt window.

If you don't see the window auto-tuning download level as "Normal", run the following command:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel = normal
This command will set the TCP receive window to Normal from the disabled or limited access state. The TCP receive window is one of the key factors for the internet download speed. So, turning the TCP receive window to “Normal” will definitely help you increase your internet speed.
After this command, you can check another Windows parameter regarding slow Internet connection called “Windows scur heuristics”. To check this parameter, type:
netsh interface tcp show heuristics
If it is disabled, it means that Microsoft is somehow trying to throttle your internet connection. To avoid this and get faster internet, type the following command and press enter:
netsh interface tcp set heuristics disabled
Once you press enter, you will receive an "ok" message and now your internet speed will have definitely increased.
Once you are done with the above steps, you can follow the first step to check whether your internet speed has increased or not.
