According to a letter to Congress, Apple announced on Monday that it is approving the return of Parler to its app store, following improvements the social media company made to better detect and mitigate hate speech and incitement.

So the Parler app, which is particularly popular among conservatives and some members of the far right, is once again available on Apple devices.
The letter, addressed to Senator Mike Lee and Representative Ken Buck, explains that since Parler was removed from Apple's platform in January for violating its policies, it has "proposed updates to its app and its content moderation practices."
On April 14, Apple's app review team told Parler that its proposed changes were sufficient.
"Apple expects the updated Parler app to be available shortly after launch," Apple's letter said.
So far neither Apple nor Parler have commented.
Parler is an alternative app to Facebook and Twitter that offers free speech. However, after the riots at the Capitol on January 6, it was removed from most technology platforms.

Parler launched from the Apple and Google, as well as Amazon Web Services, which hosted the company's product.
All three tech giants cited the presence of hate speech in the app as a reason for the removal. Later, other vendors also removed the app, making it inaccessible online. For several weeks, Parler was a static page instead of a functioning social networking app.
The app came back online on February 15, but not before its CEO from the board. It took another two months for Apple to give its approval, reinstating Parler in its app store.

Meanwhile, Parler is waging a legal battle against Amazon (AMZN), claiming in part that Big Tech companies colluded to restrict its market access. The tech companies have rejected Parler's accusations.
In Monday's letter, Apple said its decision to remove Parler from its app store was "an independent decision" and that Apple "did not coordinate or otherwise consult with Google or Amazon regarding this decision."
