Google is testing displaying results without URLs

Google Lately, Google has been in a phase of renewal. It is making various changes to many things in order to provide a better experience to users and enhance security. One of these changes has to do with the system search. The company wants to bring some changes that will make the system more interactive, more privacy-friendly, while at the same time helping to increase traffic to various sites.

Google is reportedly testing a new SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) user interface in which it has removed URLs from search results . Domains are not even displayed.

In this test environment, Google only displays the icon, the breadcrumb/site name, the result title, and a short description. The URL is not displayed.

A Reddit user noticed the change and posted a screenshot showing what the results currently look like, after removing the URLs:

Hackers can take advantage of the fact that no domain , and users will not be able to verify the legitimacy of a result.

On the other hand, the company believes that this change will help newbies in blogging and content publishing gain more visitors.

As we mentioned above, Google is generally in a phase of change and is testing various things regarding search results. The goal is to improve the user. Therefore, it is not certain whether the company will release this update.

We believe that we will soon have an official announcement from Google itself.
