Amazon briefly crossed the $1 trillion mark earlier today. It became the second U.S.-based company to surpass the $1 trillion mark in a single month, after Apple, which hit the 13-figure mark in August 2018. The company's stock hit a record high of $2,050.50 per share earlier today, more than enough to pass the $2,050.27 threshold needed to reach $1 trillion. The stock may have been down recently due to the recent global stock market volatility, but the market seems to be liking the company. It's possible that Amazon's total value could surpass the $1 trillion mark in the coming days. Amazon is the second US-based company to hit the $1 trillion milestone, and the third internationally, after PetroChina briefly touched the trillion mark in 2007.
