Currently, when you make a video call on Skype, you can have up to 25 people on it. But now, Microsoft is thinking of doubling the number of participants. The company has already started testing the possibility of increasing the participation limit on group calls on Skype. It will be an increase that will double the number of participants allowed, which means that it will go from 25 to 50. This change has only been available to beta testers for now
Skype will enable audio and video buttons for larger groups, allowing people on a call to easily turn their webcams on or off. They'll also be able to mute their microphones if they want. Small businesses, which often use Skype for meetings and communication with colleagues, will certainly appreciate this change.
People who participate in the test large chat will be sent a notification from Microsoft. Also, if someone doesn't respond to the initial notification in time, Microsoft will be able to call them even if the group chat has started.
So far, only beta testers can take advantage of this new feature. It will most likely take some time before this feature ends its beta phase and becomes available to all Skype users. Microsoft has not yet said when it will offer the new feature to all users.
