An Instagram bug has left the accounts of Kylie Jenner and singers Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez 3 million followers poorer.
This year started with Kylie Jenner being the queen of Instagram, after she broke the record for most likes on a photo. It was a photo of an egg that reached 52.8 million likes, for those of you who didn't happen to read it somewhere.
Yesterday, however, a glitch on the social networking service caused chaos among social media users and became the topic of discussion on many online forums, when fans of Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez noticed a significant drop in the number of followers. According to several user posts, it seems that the three celebrities lost 3 million followers in a split second .
The developers, meanwhile, confirmed the bug and announced via Twitter that the problem will be resolved by today. The bug has apparently affected several other users of the platform, judging by the hundreds of complaints online, most of them Indians.
Many are blaming a bug platform hackers. Whatever the cause of the confusion, it certainly proves that Instagram should take the security of its platform more seriously and care more about the privacy of its users as it is currently the most popular and commercial social networking platform in the world.
