Google Chrome is the dominant browser over all others and it's not hard to wonder why.
Back in 2008, Google released the first version of Chrome for Windows. Google's web browser is based on an open source platform and provides access to a huge number of extensions to enhance the browsing experience. By 2010, Google Chrome, in addition to Windows, also came to Linux and MacOS, while by 2012 it reached the mobile platform and a little later to iOS devices! So it is very difficult to say whether Google aimed to dominate its own browser over the rest, as it still claims two-thirds of global browsing! Below we see in detail the reasons why this is happening.
#1 Browsing
In terms of speed, Chrome may be a little slower than Firefox Quantum. And when we say slower, we mean the minimum difference of one second. Apart from some speed tests that have been conducted, for most users Chrome is experienced as the fastest browser.
#2 System resource usage
Compared to the other two web browsers, Firefox and Safari, Google Chrome is characterized as a resource hog, which is why it takes longer to navigate from page to page. It also uses more RAM and more CPU cycles than its other competitors!
#3 Security and privacy
Chrome always makes automated updates in the background and at the same time ensures that the latest version has the corresponding security patches! It also provides a warning for sites that are not safe. In addition to this, it also allows the installation of antivirus plugins. Regarding privacy, Google's browser gives you the incognito browsing function, during which search history, cookies or site data or information filled in form fields are not stored. Of course, even when you use this function, your ISP can track you but it is a smart use of "basic privacy".
#4 Interface
Regarding the interface, it is worth mentioning that it is very simple and easy to navigate and at the same time gives users access to see applications and sites they use frequently. Also, if you create a free Chrome account, then you can synchronize your web-browsing proclivities on any device you use!
As we have seen, Google Chrome dominates web browsers and it is very easy for anyone to see. It is a very stable, clean and powerful browser and can link bookmarks and passwords between devices! If you don't want to use the fastest browser available, then there is no reason not to use Google's!
