Google – Maps and Waze are two seemingly similar, but very different, navigation services offered by Googleit will now be offered in Google Maps as well.
In July 2017, the speed limit feature on Google Maps only worked in certain parts of California and Brazil. Finally, Google is ready to bring it to the rest of us.

It is worth mentioning that one of the reasons the company chose not to add this specific feature to Google Maps was to differentiate itself from Waze , which focuses more on drivers , unlike Google Maps, which aims to serve pedestrians.
According to recent information, the speed limit notification in Google Maps has been launched for users in New York, Minnesota and Los Angeles. Considering the distance between them, this is not a location-based update, but a server-side switch, which Google decided to reverse (at least in the US). Of course, the new feature has not yet arrived in Greece, so we are waiting until it becomes available to us. Hopefully soon…
