The Raspberry Pi has been able to inspire a wide range of open source Linux computer boards. Some of the most notable names include the Orange Pi, Asus Tinker Board, Banana Pi, etc. Also, from time to time, new and promising projects keep popping up on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, which promise to offer better quality at a lower cost.
A similar project called La Frite was recently discovered. This open source mini computer is available for support and is aiming to be released in November. The project has already passed the $10,000 goal needed to go into production.
La Frite is a follow-up to Libre Computer's previous release, Le Potato, priced at $25. The makers of La Frite have dubbed their product the Raspberry Pi Zero equivalent of the Raspberry Pi 3.
