Intel announced that it will livestream the 2018 Desktop Launch today, via the Intel Newsroom. The details so far are vague apart from the specifications of some of the new processors that were announced.
Last month, there were hints that new Intel Z390 motherboards with the new chipset would be released soon. Last week, Newegg confirmed the rumors by adding the new motherboards to its hardware parts store, with prices ranging from $212 to $279.
Beyond the motherboards, the release of Intel's ninth‑generation processors is expected, which have already sparked the world’s curiosity. Few details have been released by Intel in manuals and from prices posted online.
From prices we can find online, it is rumored that the i5‑9600K will cost about $350, the i7‑9700K about $530, and the i9‑9900K about $650.
It is not yet clear whether these new processors will be safe from the Spectre and Meltdown that were published and affected Intel processors.
