Microsoft releases Windows 10 RS6 Build 18237

Microsoft may be releasing a new build for Windows Insiders enrolled in the Fast Ring, and this time it's previewing the upcoming Redstone 6 update coming in spring 2019.

Windows 10 build 18237 doesn't bring too many changes to insiders, and that's understandable since work on the update has just begun.

Right now everyone is focused on getting the October 2018 Update ready for launch, which is expected to happen next month, which accelerates the development of the Spring 2019 feature update.

The only change in this build is the acrylic effect applied to the Windows, helping users see a more modern interface before they even log in. Acrylic is part of Microsoft's Fluent Design System and is already available in other parts of the operating system, including core apps.

In addition to several improvements, there are also two known issues, and one of them concerns notifications that appear in the Action Center. Microsoft explains:

"When looking at the notification background, the Action Center loses its color and becomes transparent (with an acrylic effect). We know this can make it difficult for you to read your notifications, and we would appreciate your patience as we work to fix this," Microsoft explains.

Windows 10 Redstone 6 is expected to launch in the spring of next year, according to Microsoft's typical release schedule. That means it should be finalized in March and then released to users in April. The pace of the launch build, however, will accelerate once the October 2018 Update is released next month.
