Slack, during the annual Slack Frontiers, announced that two security robots have been built in collaboration with Cobalt Robotics to monitor the company's offices.
The robots have integrated sensors including thermal cameras, readers, environmental sensors and sirens, LIDAR, RFID, and long-range ultrasonic sensors.
They also have integrated two-way audio/video communication and a front-facing touch screen used as a virtual presence device.
Cobalt Robotics combines the right hardware, software and human resources to create the perfect security solution for employees and facilities.
The “army” of robots that roams the area scans anything that appears in its visual field and evaluates it appropriately.

The autonomous security robots function as virtual presence devices for Cobalt's specialists.
It is worth noting that although many consider that security requires the right people with the right experience to ensure that procedures and protocols are followed, most security experts now trust and choose automated options.
From what it seems, this choice is also the correct one, as the automated units can wander on their own through all the company's headquarters and enforce a specific set of security rules devised by the company, with absolute focus on the work and elimination of the human error factor.
