iPhone X lowers volume with a glance

The iPhone X's TrueDepth camera allows not only for facial recognition, but also for a series of "gestures" that wouldn't be possible without 3D sensing technology.

One of these is the ability to adjust the ringer volume with just a glance at the device, which gives users the option to control the volume level without touching their phone.iPhone X

This means that if you're using your iPhone X and someone calls you, if you want to automatically lower the volume level you can simply look at the device, obviously if the iPhone X is near you and the TrueDepth camera can detect your eyes.

Apple reveals another major iPhone X glitch

Best of all, Face ID doesn't even need to be enabled, so everything will work with a few tweaks on the iPhone X.

This feature is part of a larger series of gestures powered by the 3D sensing cameras and you can enable them from Settings – General – Accessibility – Attention Aware Features, or Settings – General – Accessibility – Attention Aware Features.

iPhone X's Face ID offers the greatest data security

Apple itself says the new cameras provide more than just facial recognition for authentication, and it says it could add more such features with a future software update.

“Even if you’re not using Face ID, the TrueDepth camera is intelligently enabled to support Attention Aware Features, like screen dimming, and more.”

“For example, when using Safari, your device will check if you are looking at your device and turn off the screen if you are not looking at it,” the company says.

Everyone is waiting for Apple's iPhone X, but how many will actually buy it?
