Adobe Acrobat is a very heavy PDF viewer that also has full editing capabilities.
However, Adobe's app remains very expensive even for professionals. So if you want to edit a PDF file and don't have access to the paid version of the app, there is an easy solution for editing PDFs.
All you need to do is upload the PDF to Google Drive. Now to edit the PDF, follow these steps:
Upload your PDF to Google Drive. Once uploaded, right-click and select Open with Google Docs.
The PDF you want to edit will open as an editable Google Docs document.
Once you're done editing, you can save the file to your computer as a PDF or Word document, among other things.
Simply click File – Download As and select the file type to save the edited document.
But let's look at some prerequisites. The above method works best with PDFs that consist of text only.
If the PDF you want to edit has fillable forms, they will be lost when you convert the file to Google Doc. The images in the PDF will disappear, as will any text formatting.
There are a few apps you can add to Google Drive that claim to be PDF editors (like Lumin PDF and DocHub), but these apps won't add many extra features or functionality.
The above method is very convenient for new users or new computers that will not have Acrobat Reader or any other PDF editor installed. You can save a lot of time instead of downloading & installing Acrobat when all you want to do is make some small changes to the PDF.
