All major tech giants are busy investing millions in research and development to enable the next generation of 5G communication technology.

Among them, companies like Qualcomm and Nokia are leading the race. Earlier this month, Qualcomm unveiled its first 5G network with the X50 modem.
In a related and exciting development, a Twitter named Sherif Hanna has tweeted an image of a phone he claims is the world's first 5G smartphone. Hanna is the marketing manager for LTE and 5G NR Modems for Qualcomm.

In his tweet, he posted a photo of a smartphone with the caption: “It’s hard to believe I have the world’s first 5G smartphone in my hand!”
The smartphone shown in the image is said to have a dual camera with dual LED flash settings. While the cameras are horizontally aligned, the flash is vertically aligned. You can also spot the Qualcomm Snapdragon logo at the bottom of the back side of the phone.
According to Digit, the smartphone in the image is Qualcomm's first reference design for mmWave 5G and is not a final unit. The company designed it for testing and optimizing the performance of 5G mmWave for a mobile device factor.
