Google SOS Alerts in Search and Maps

SOS Alerts: Google is offering all users easy access to information submitted during times of crisis with a new feature . The company is reportedly launching a new feature that helps everyone with an internet connection stay safe in natural disaster situations

The so-called SOS Alerts feature will contain several tools via Search and Maps. It is designed to display authoritative local information, emergency hotlines and websites, as well as various translations of useful phrases and terms.

Users located within close proximity to the affected areas may also receive notifications on their mobile devices, which will lead to the information mentioned above.Google SOS Alerts

The new feature will also make it easier for those not near the affected areas to find information that helps them understand what really happened. Searches for affected events or locations will display SOS alerts to provide a timely overview of the situation as well as facilities to show your support with donations.

To offer such detailed real-time reports, Google has reportedly partnered with various emergency organizations, such as the Red Cross and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

With the launch of SOS Alerts, Google will have four emergency technology products with the Person Finder, Crisis Map, and Public Alerts applications.

Google isn't the only company seeking to use technology to create a safer community.

Facebook has been operating its own safety check services for some time.
