Samsung has just released its latest flagship and now the spotlight is waiting to fall on the company's next big creation, the foldable smartphone Galaxy X.Rumors about this groundbreaking device have been going around for some time now with the latest revealing that the testing phase is set to begin soon.
The new Galaxy X can be folded open 180 degrees and features a pair of light-emitting organic display panels connected in the middle by a hinge.
The latest report also adds that Samsung has already ordered parts to produce 2,000-3,000 units of this prototype smartphone this year. Of course, its release date is still unknown. So it would be best to be cautious with the information in this report, especially when the company itself has not revealed anything yet.
On the other hand, some recent reports claim that Samsung's new foldable smartphone will not be released this year but in 2019. Furthermore, it is claimed that Samsung will initially introduce single-foldable devices and then multi-foldables will follow.
It is known that Samsung is not the only manufacturer aiming to launch foldable smartphones. LG and Apple have also filed patents for similar devices. However, in the highly competitive smartphone market, Samsung has the best chance of introducing a fully functional device and it is certainly something the company will pursue, especially after last year's Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
