Apple is expected to feature a 5.8-inch OLED display for its upcoming iPhone 8, while other phones expected to launch this new year will have IPS LCD displays. A new report from Patently Apple says the company plans to use OLED displays in all iPhones by 2019.
Apple will reportedly use three Korean suppliers for flexible circuit boards for the iPhone 8. Apple is expected to equip about 60 million iPhones with OLED , doubling that number next year. It also plans to use OLED for all of its new iPhones by 2019.
This would mean that the upcoming iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will be the last to feature IPS LCD displays before Apple switches to OLED altogether.
