BlackBerry Mercury: The Mobile World Congress is the biggest tech event of the year, and many smartphone manufacturers choose to hold press interviews a few days before its official launch. Thus BlackBerry considered it good to present a new teaser for the upcoming Mercury smartphone.
The official presentation will take place on February 25 and according to the teaser it will be at 19:00 CET in Barcelona at the company's booth. The teaser reveals the front as well as the back side of the smartphone, where the QWERTY keyboard is clearly visible.
The BlackBerry Mercury was first presented during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month, when the company showcased a pre-production device that still needed some work on its software.
The upcoming BlackBerry, besides the QWERTY keyboard, will feature a 4.5-inch screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The keyboard can also be used as a trackpad and features a fingerprint sensor. The phone will have a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port, while the battery capacity can reach 3,400mAh.
Regarding performance, the BlackBerry Mercury is said to “wear” a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and 3GB RAM. It could also have a rear camera of 18MP.
