According to a report, Google is set to launch two new smartwatches running Android 2.0 on February 9th.
The report says that Google's two new smartwatches will be manufactured by LG and will begin shipping in the US the day after they are announced. The smartwatches, which will be called the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style, look very similar to the prototypes published by Android Police last July.
Both watches will have round “plastic OLED” displays. The Sport will be 1.38 inches (480 x 480) and the Style will be 1.2 inches (360 x 360 resolution). In addition, both will also have a button similar to the one on the Apple Watch, which they will use for navigation.
While both models will have built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for connecting to smartphones and Wi-Fi networks, the Sport will have a few extra features, including built-in 4G LTE (like the Gear S3) to support Android Pay, GPS, NFC, a heart rate monitor, more RAM (768MB vs. 512MB), and a larger battery (430mAh vs. 240mAh). Both smartwatches will have 4GB of internal storage, though – pretty standard for a smartwatch.
One thing the smaller Style will have is interchangeable straps. It is expected to come in three colors: titanium white, silver, and rose gold. The Sport Watch will only come in two colors: titanium white and dark blue.
Google Assistant (available on Pixels and Google Home) will be integrated into smartwatches in some capacity, though it's unclear how central a role it will play.
