When will we get rid of Dirty Cow?

Dirty Cow is the most well-known and dangerous vulnerability in Android devices, but there has been no fix for it so far. Google had plenty of time to fix the bug before the planned release of improved code in the security update released in November for Nexus and Pixel devices.Dirty Cow

But what is Dirty Cow?

This is a vulnerability added to the Linux kernel in 2007 that allows an attacker to gain privileges on the software. Dirty Cow also significantly affects Android versions.

Understandably, Dirty Cow has caught the attention of many hackers who can exploit the vulnerability to compromise Linux and Android software. Apparently, there are many cases where hackers have compromised the exposed servers.

It is therefore very surprising that Google has not yet fixed the problem.

On the other hand, Dirty Cow is used by many users for utility purposes. The reason lies in the vulnerability's ability to disrupt the Android system and allow the introduction of unauthorized applications for the device.

Many believed that Google would fix the bug in the November security update and advise Verizon Pixel owners not to install the update directly if they wanted the bootloader to remain locked.download-1

But everything showed that the giant did not intend to rid us of Dirty Cow with the release of the upgraded security code in November despite the great desire of users. Let's hope that the December version will not disappoint us.
